DESCRIPTION:A free monthly distribution of seasonal produce\, canned goods\, and shelf stable products. This is a “farmer’s market” style distribution located inside of the Frederick Senior Center. All Frederick County residents age 60+ with an income below $1\,450 per month are eligible to participate. Please bring a photo ID to register the first time. Groceries for Seniors is offered on the third Friday of each month! \n

DESCRIPTION:Seton Center Food Drop\nFree groceries for all\, no requirements.\nNo Eligibility Needed\nEveryone is welcome to recieve groceries\, no questions asked or eligibility checks required for participation. \nPartnership Program\nFood donated by the Frederick Rescue Mission\, Weis Markets\, and YMCA of Frederick County to support community needs. \nLocation\nDistribution occurs at Seton Center\, 226 East Lincoln Avenue\, Emmitsburg\, MD. Call 301-447-6102 for more information. \nTime\nThe food drop starts after groceries are delivered\, around 11:30 am. Please check our Facebook page for any changes. \nDate\nFood Drop occurs on the last two Thursdays of each month. Upcoming dates: February 20th and 27th; March 20th and 27th.

SUMMARY:2025 Draft Community Health Needs Assessment: Now Available for Public Comment
DESCRIPTION:Deadline to Submit Feedback: Friday\, April 4 \nThe Frederick County Health Department\, Frederick Health\, and the Coalition for a Healthier Frederick County have developed a new Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Community members are invited to review the draft CHNA report and provide feedback. \nA draft of the 2025 Community Health Needs Assessment is available for review online at: health.frederickcountymd.gov/CHNA2025. Comments can be submitted using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FC2025CHNA through April 4\, 2025. A final version of the CHNA will be made available through the same link in May 2025. \nThe CHNA provides an overview of the process used to assess the health of the community\, identify recurring themes that emerged\, and select the top priorities for the next three-year Local Health Improvement Process (LHIP) cycle. The report contains data about leading causes of death\, chronic illnesses\, maternal and child health\, mental health\, use of alcohol\, cannabis\, and tobacco\, and factors such as education\, income\, and food access. The CHNA can be used as a reference for interested community individuals and organizations to provide data on the current status of health in Frederick County. \nLHIP Workgroups are currently developing plans to address the selected priorities.
